CONCEPT 45 (A ROUND CORNER)

Collection of Work

Wood, embroidery, print, paint, acrylic

My body of work is a look into architectural interiors, providing a perspective on reality and abstraction through materials, colour, depth and texture.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Lee Sol, Jo Elbourne, Tilde Grynnerup.

Marker's Commentary

Concept 45 (A round corner) effectively demonstrates great synergy between the refined application of materials and the representation of interior spaces. The clever title refers to the repetition of the round and angular shapes within each scene which act as a dominant visual device, uniting the series and creating dynamic rhythm. The concentrated and subtle mid-century colour palette is strategically considered and also actively contributes to creating visual unification. There are strong references to modernist architecture, evident in each of the stylised and elegant formally arranged compositions. The inventive use of a diverse range of media along the with the interplay between 2d and 3d forms create a visually arresting collection of works.
