Digital art, printed on cardstock paper

My body of work is a representation of the duality present in human society, and the blending of polar opposites. The individual meaning of each piece, however, much like tarot cards, is up to your interpretation.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Kim Krans, The Wild Unknown Tarot Deck; Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland; soresaki [@sa_ka_na_4]; Claude Monet; Vanessa Stockhard; kamo [@kamochiruu].

Marker's Commentary

XXI presents a series of hypothetical playing cards along with a series of seven larger prints. The card pack has a selective colour coding to convey the lively and inviting curiosity of the viewer as they discover the intriguing and layered imagery contained throughout the deck of cards. The illustrations demonstrate an assured and confident approach to digital drawing and production, that showcases a consistency of practice across the unique images. Inviting thoughts and narratives of filmic conventions, medieval influence and sense of drama, this body of work takes the audience on journey of subjective imagination.
